This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data in connection with our iOS application and the website snapscopeai.com (the “Service”).

By using SnapScope, you agree to this Privacy Policy. We collect only what we need to provide estimating services, maintain the Service, and improve your experience. We never sell your personal data.

1) Data we collect

Project & Business Data Photos of job sites, properties, and construction projects; project details including addresses, scope, and measurements; estimates and bids you create; client and customer information you input; voice transcriptions for note-taking and estimate generation.

Account & Subscription App user ID, email address, purchase receipts and entitlement status via Apple In-App Purchases and RevenueCat.

Onboarding Information Trade/profession, typical job types, business goals, project volume, pain points, and time spent on estimates.

AI Processing We process your photos and project data using AI services (Google Generative AI, OpenAI, and Anthropic) to generate estimates and insights. This data is sent to these providers’ APIs for processing.

Device & Technical Data Product usage analytics, crash and performance diagnostics, device/OS/app version, and similar technical metadata for service reliability and improvement.

Location Data If you enable location services, we may collect approximate location data to associate with job sites and projects.

Support Communications Messages you send us and metadata needed to provide assistance.

We do not store audio recordings. Voice input is transcribed and then discarded.

2) Why we process your data

To provide our service:

Generate estimates and project insights using AI
Store and organize your project photos and data
Process and manage your estimates and bids
Account management and authentication
Subscription processing and entitlements
Customer support and communications

With your consent:

Analytics to improve your app experience
Location data for job site tracking
Camera and photo library access

For business operations:

Security monitoring and fraud prevention
Crash reporting and performance optimization
Legal compliance and safety requirements

You can withdraw consent anytime in app settings or iOS Settings. This won’t affect data we’ve already processed with your permission.

We never sell your data. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us run SnapScope:

Apple: Handles App Store payments and device authentication
RevenueCat: Manages your subscription status
Cloud infrastructure providers: Host our servers and databases
Sentry: Helps us fix crashes and bugs (personal info is minimized)
Google, OpenAI, Anthropic: Process photos and project data to generate estimates via their AI APIs

Important: When you use AI features, your photos and project data are sent to third-party AI providers for processing. These providers may temporarily process your data according to their own privacy policies and data retention practices.

These companies process data only as needed to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

4) Data retention & deletion

Active account: Data retained while your account exists and for legitimate business purposes
Account deletion: Immediate removal of active data; backup copies purged within 30 days
Analytics data: Retained for up to 2 years (anonymized where possible)
Support communications: Retained for 1 year for quality assurance
AI provider processing: Data sent to AI providers is processed according to their retention policies (typically not stored long-term for API requests)

5) Security measures

Encryption: All data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest
Access controls: Limited employee access to user data
Monitoring: Continuous security monitoring and regular assessments
Breach notification: We’ll notify you and authorities as required by applicable law

6) Your privacy rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR for EU users, CCPA for California users), you may have the right to:

Access your personal data and processing details
Rectify inaccurate or incomplete information

7) Age requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to use SnapScope. We don’t knowingly collect data from minors.

8) International users

SnapScope is designed primarily for users in the United States. By using our Service, you acknowledge that your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different privacy laws than your own.

9) AI data processing

When you use SnapScope’s AI-powered estimating features:

Your photos and project data are sent to third-party AI providers (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic) via their APIs to generate estimates
According to their current API documentation, these providers do not use API data to train their models by default
They retain data temporarily for abuse detection and service reliability (typically 30-60 days), then delete it
You retain ownership of all content you submit

10) Policy updates

We’ll notify you of significant changes via the app or email and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
